Class was great and easy to follow. Solid information presented in a simple to follow format. I was worried going with a lower cost class it might be less of a presentation, but I can honestly say I am glad I did not drop $500 for another program that offers everything you do for the lower price. 1. Becoming a Notary
To become a Notary in California, you must be at least 18 years old, a legal resident of California, must not have been charged with a felony in the last 10 years, or a misdemeanour in the last 5 years, you must complete a state-approved notary public education course (like EZ Notary Class), and pass a state-administered exam.
After completing the 6 hour EZ Notary Class course, you must pass the state exam—which are scheduled regularly—and complete the application process. The state’s processing time can take several weeks to a few months.
No prior experience or qualifications are required to enroll in the EZ Notary Class. The course is designed to provide all the necessary training for individuals at any level.
In California, you must be a legal resident, but citizenship is not a requirement.
Yes, Notaries need supplies like their official stamp seal, Inkless Thumbprint Pad, forms and journals. Notaries also need to renew their notary commission every 2 years, maintain a ‘Notary Bond’, and take out Errors and Omissions Insurance.
You do not have to be a Notary full-time. Many Notaries choose to be a part-time Mobile Notary while you continuing their existing career.

5. Course Completion
For the Loan Signing Certification—the free bonus course you get when you sign up for EZ Notary Class—you will get your certification as soon as you have completed the 4 hour course. After you have completed the EZ Notary Class course and you think you are ready (some learners want to test themselves first using the Notary Simulator that we provide free with the course) we will help you get registered for the official State Notary exam, which run regularly. Once you pass your exam you will typically receive your official Notary Public Commission from the State of California in a few weeks.
Once you have taken and passed the State exam you will need to submit an application for your official State Notary commission.
